Visiting Practitioner Lecture Series – Cedrik Fermont

Noise art is an unfamiliar field to me, and Cedrik Fermont made me realise with his work and yesterday’s lecture that noise art is not a very difficult field to understand.

Noise is also a form of energy and contains emotions. I noticed from an interview that Cedrik Fermont has a habit of carrying around a recorder or camera to record his life. And he likes to explore particular sounds or frequencies, such as the drones the aircraft generates or the sound of different metal clashes.

In fact, he is also using his ears to experience life and the environment, but he focuses more on the more subtle sounds and frequencies. When you think about it, all areas of sound art are connected, and the most basic point is to listen, to feel with the ear.
