Visiting Practitioner Lecture Series – Hollie Buhagiar
I’m sorry I didn’t get to hear Hollie Buhagiar’s talk this week. I went to listen to the music she composed and also to find out more about the projects she is involved in. I loved the music for the animated short poles apart but unfortunately I couldn’t find the full video to watch. I watched the trailer and some behind-the-scenes videos. It is a stop-motion animation that was a lot of fun to create. The story takes place in the Arctic, an endless expanse of white. The images and the music feel comfortable together as the music sounds clean and pure. And then Hollie adds vocals to the second half of the music to bring a little more life to this world of ice and snow. It’s actually the same psychological change as the polar bear, who was lonely until the brown bear arrived. But the brown bear brought energy and change to her life.
