Case study – Ryoji Ikeda
I first became acquainted with the artist through The Transfinite (2011) and was amazed at the immersive of Ryoji Ikeda’s work. Last year I visited Ryoji Ikeda’s exhibition in London and every work in the show was a revelation. Data-verse trilogy (2021), a work I really enjoyed. I sat on the floor and watched the contents of the three screens change, not wanting to miss a second. The sound filled the space and immersed me.
I see macro and micro, universe and code in Ryoji Ikeda’s work. He puts his understanding of all these into his work and it really engrosses me.
