Element 2 Worklog 5-Space soundscape shaping 2 (worklog 5.17-5.23)

I changed a wand’s sound this week, but the main task is to continue to refine the ambient sounds. This week I’ve started working on the trap map.

This week I finished the creation and adjustment of all the sounds which I needed. And I also finalized the volume and reverb of each sound in UE4. Because it’s a dungeon, all the sounds (whether it’s the wands’ skills, the monsters’ voices or the NPCs’ voices, etc.) have reverberated to some degree or another. I didn’t talk about the music during the whole process because I didn’t make the music, I just put it into the game.

I’ve done two games this year, last time with unity and this time with UE4, and as a newbie in this field I’m always fumbling around, making mistakes, trying and experimenting, and learning new software. But in the end, I completed the game, and it was a painful and happy process. These two experiences have shown me that I do love game sound, and this has given me a clear goal for my third year of research.

Finally a few project photos from Protools and UE4.

And finally a link to the download of the game’s trial play pack.

I’m sorry about did not prepare the English language pack. We didn’t have enough time to finish the English version of the game. Regarding changing the language of the game, only my friend was able to do it and I haven’t learned anything other than the sound system yet. I am sorry again.
