Another collaboration – animation

For the first conference call, Jiachen and I created an initial sound design proposal.

The first version of the sound effects basically achieved what was mentioned in the plan. However, the animation students later shortened the duration of the animation, as there was not enough time to finish it, so the finished product went from the initial 2:08 to 1:07.

While working on the second version of the sound, Jiachen continued to revise the music, which in the second version was very different from the style of the first. My job was to fill in the missing voices from the first version and we booked a morning and afternoon Foley studio and Composition studio, with the intention of recording Foley and the girl’s voices in one day. The voice actors were contacted by the animation students and the whole process went very smoothly, we ended up recording in half a day and the rest of the day was spent by Jiachen and me in the Composition studio doing the final mix.
