How you will ‘announce’ your portfolio work to fellow students and a wider public

Firstly creating a website or online portfolio is essential for me, in this age of the internet, the internet is a quick way to get you in front of the public. This is the premise of all.

The next thing is social media outreach. I must actively update my social media accounts, like Ins, to share my work and build an audience. And finding like-minded directors or game designers to work with on new productions.

Then there’s attending film festivals or games competitions. I can build connections with other sound practitioners, filmmakers, or event game planners.

Lastly, I should mention that LinkedIn would be the choice of most practitioners when it comes to their careers, so updating the LinkedIn homepage and using LinkedIn to contact HR managers or sound practitioners at various companies is a good option to help me get into the industry.

In conclusion, using multiple channels and methods to promote a portfolio can increase visibility and audience reach. At the same time, continuing to create and improve the quality of your work is the best way to get more opportunities and showcase your work.
