Creative process – video 1
For the first version of the video, I used two software programs, Photoshop and Final cut. I first used PS to blend the two images together, in order to blur the edges of the two images and to give the middle part the appearance of two images stacked together. I duplicated both images once, placed them under the original layer (original image) and Select the mode Darken. Then using the eraser tool, blurred the edges of the original layer (original image).

Then it was time to use Final cut to make the video. I discussed this with Jiachen and decided to change the weather every 5 minutes and add a rain effect 10-15 minutes into this video. I purchased some rain video footage and after importing it into the software, I placed it on top of the original image and selected Multiply as the mode. When it rains there are not only raindrops falling, but also ripples on the ground and dark clouds in the sky. And in the last five minutes the rain turned from light to medium to heavy and gradually became smaller.

For the first version video I exported two, the only difference being the degree of visibility of the raindrops. The first one is the normal exposure. And the second one, I pulled the exposure of raindrops down to -100.
