Progress report for CV & Website & Appraisals
The CV has finished its first draft, and the website has started to be built, choosing Six to build the site. This blog mainly wants to talk about three opportunities in appraisals, the first element is a postgraduate course, the second element is a game company in the UK and the third element is a game company in China. Today I want to talk about the first element of choice.
As I mentioned in my previous blog, my priority is a postgraduate course to continue my studies and research in film sound. There were two options before me, the National Film and Television School and the London Film School. I consulted people close to me, who stated that both schools were good and that I would apply to both. However, of the two schools, I am more partial to the National Film and Television School because of its course curriculum. The London Film School specialises in filmmaking and the first year is spent rotating through various film departments, so I need to learn about directing photography and producing. Then the second year I choose a direction and continued my studies. This was not my preferred format, as I had already known different film departments at Beijing Film Academic. So this process was a bit of a waste of time. I knew very clearly I wanted to work in film sound. Hence, the National Film and Television School curriculum appealed to me, as he focused on film sound. He would also offer a games workshop in the second year, where I could work with the school’s game design students to collaborate on games. That was so tempting for me.

Now that I have decided to apply for postgraduate study, I must understand the requirements of the schools I am applying to.

Both schools require a ten-minute short film. I have worked with many directors during my undergraduate studies, and most of my short films have been selected for festivals, and some have won awards, so I can select a few short film clips and edit them to submit as ten-minute clips. However, the National Film and Television School also requires the second short film, which the school provides and must be completed and submitted by the application deadline. I checked it out, and it was a three-minute short film, mute with all the voices removed and no lines, which wasn’t too difficult to make.
